Who We Are

Strong Spirit seeks through its relief work, to serve humanity in all social and charitable fields. Through our framework we will fight poverty and empower communities through equal opportunities regardless of affiliation, religion, race, gender, and color. We seek to be the bridge between the people of giving and the people of need in the world.

More than 30 years ago, the idea of establishing a global charity in Canada arose to alleviate the suffering of the needy, provide aid to the weak, feed the hungry, sponsor orphans, heal the sick, take care of the disabled, build shelters and schools, and provide clean drinking water by digging wells. Our charity work first started through our educational site where we were contributing to providing financial assistance to those in need. Our charity was evolving in its services from year to year until it became one of the leading associations in the field of social service. Our programs provide financial assistance, educational opportunities, health and professional programs, medicine for those in need, awareness-raising, building shelters, helping patients, and providing vehicles for people with special needs. Our association is dedicated to creating opportunities to aid families in need.

How It All Began….

My father, Mohammed Shrem was the Mayor of Rusaifa, had such a strong love for humanitarianism that aspired him to support his community. He was blessed with works of righteousness, charity, and loyalty. His personal supervision of many charitable associations has been an inspiration to motivate all the humanitarian work in our community. As a young girl, I was moved by his humanitarian work and compassionate manner. I always felt joy and happiness when I accompanied him on his missions.

After his death his beloved wife my mom Mrs. Mona Al-Safooti Shrem continued the approach of my father, she took me with her when she distributed gifts to those in need. It brought joy to my heart to help the less fortunate in our community. The journey of giving continued with my older brothers Shrem and Mustafa, from whom I learned the meaning of humanity and the meaning of giving.

After I migrated to Canada, I continued my family’s mission and love of charity work. I started to volunteer at local organizations and received many awards during the years. From these charitable works, the idea of allocating an organization for charity work began to grow in my head. I started to include some charitable works to our educational site and after their success I realized that our work could reach more people and support communities all over the world. All my past experiences inspired me to establish the Society of Strong Spirit.
